Setting up Danomics + Claude
Danomics runs a remote MCP server that lets Claude work directly inside your Danomics workspace. Once connected, you can ask Claude — in plain language — to list wells, summarize a CPI interpretation, pull LAS summaries, run flows, kick off decline-curve analyses, organize files, and more, without leaving the chat.
This guide walks you through connecting Danomics as a custom connector in Claude. It takes about two minutes.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A Claude account. Custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. (Free accounts are limited to one custom connector.)
- A Danomics account with access to the data you want Claude to reach. Claude only ever sees what your Danomics login is allowed to see.
- The Danomics MCP server URL:
https://app.danomics.com/mcp
Which setup path you follow depends on your plan. If you're on an individual Pro or Max plan, use Path A. If your organization is on a Team or Enterprise plan, use Path B.
Path A — Pro and Max plans (individual accounts)
- Go to Customize > Connectors in Claude.
- Click "+", then choose "Add custom connector."
- In the URL field, paste:
https://app.danomics.com/mcp
- Click "Add."
- The connector will appear in your list with a "Custom" label. Click "Connect" and sign in with your Danomics credentials when prompted. This authorizes Claude to act in Danomics on your behalf — Claude never sees your password.
That's it. Skip ahead to Turn the connector on in a conversation.
Path B — Team and Enterprise plans
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector once for the organization, and then each member connects their own account. This keeps every user's access scoped to their own Danomics permissions.
Step 1 — Owner adds the connector (one time)
An Owner or Primary Owner does this once:
- Go to Organization settings > Connectors.
- Click "Add."
- Hover over "Custom," then select "Web."
- Paste the Danomics MCP server URL:
https://app.danomics.com/mcp
- Click "Add."
Step 2 — Each member connects their account
After the Owner has added it, every member does this individually:
- Go to Customize > Connectors.
- Find Danomics in the list (it will carry a "Custom" label).
- Click "Connect" and sign in with your Danomics credentials.
Turn the connector on in a conversation
Adding the connector makes it available; you enable it per conversation.
- In any chat, click the "+" button near the message box.
- Choose "Connectors."
- Toggle Danomics on.
You can enable or disable it for each conversation independently. When it's on, Claude can call Danomics tools as needed to answer your questions.
Try it out
Once Danomics is toggled on, start with a simple, read-only prompt to confirm everything works:
- "List the well databases I have access to in Danomics."
- "Summarize the zones and parameters in my CPI file."
- "Show me the LAS curve summaries for these API numbers…"
- "How many wells in this database have a Parkman top?"
From there you can move into heavier workflows — running flows, launching decline-curve or petrophysics jobs, exporting datasets, and reorganizing files — all by describing what you want.
The first time Claude uses a Danomics tool, you'll be asked to approve it. Review what the tool does before approving. Only choose "Allow always" for tools you're comfortable letting Claude run without checking in each time.
Troubleshooting
The connector won't connect, or sign-in fails. Confirm the URL is exactly https://app.danomics.com/mcp (no trailing spaces, no www.). Then try disconnecting and reconnecting from Customize > Connectors to restart the sign-in flow.
I don't see "Add custom connector" (Team/Enterprise). On Team and Enterprise plans, only an Owner can add the connector for the organization. Once they have, it will appear in your Customize > Connectors list ready to connect. If it isn't there, ask your Claude Owner to complete Step 1 above.
Claude says it can't reach Danomics tools. Make sure the connector is toggled on for the current conversation via the "+" > Connectors menu. Connectors are off by default in new chats until you enable them.
Claude can't see data I expect. Claude's access mirrors your Danomics account. If you can't see a database or file in Danomics, Claude can't either. Check your Danomics permissions or ask whoever manages your organization's access.
I need to change the connector's settings. Custom connectors can't be edited in place. Remove the connector (Customize > Connectors → the three-dot menu → Remove) and add it again with the updated details.
A note on security and permissions
- Claude connects to Danomics through Anthropic's cloud infrastructure using the permissions you grant during sign-in. You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting the connector in Claude, or from your Danomics account settings.
- Review tool-approval prompts before allowing actions — especially any tool that creates, modifies, or deletes data.
- Use the "Search and tools" menu in a conversation to disable any Danomics tools you don't want available for that chat.
Questions about the Danomics side of the integration — access, data, or workspace setup — should go to your Danomics administrator or Danomics support.

Quick Start Module
Purpose The Quick Start module is designed to help users quickly set dozens of common parameters by selecting a handful of basic options from dropdown menus. Parameters There are three parameters that are set on a zone-by-zone basis and two parameters that are set on a full-well basis. These are as follows. Discussion The parameters are linked to what are called named_defaults in the software. These are collections of defaults that can be set through assigning a single parameter.
Making Log Calculations in a Flow
This articles provides an overview of how to use a Flow to before basic log calculations. To do this, the following Flow tools are used: LogInput >> Bring the log data into the Flow LogMath >> Perform some calculation LogOutput >> Writes the log data to a new log database. There can be as many LogMath tools added to a flow as one would like, and they can be added to existing Flows ushc as a Log Clean-up Flow. The LogMath tool is extremely flexible.
