Danomics Petrophysics and DCA Express software are powered by the cloud so that they can scale to massive project sizes and help you get the best results in your subsurface interpretations. Read the Danomics FAQ below to learn more.

DEMOS/TRIALS

Q. Can I get a demo or a trial?

A. Absolutely.  If you want to schedule a demo via screen share email us at sales@danomics.com. You can sign-up yourself up for a 30-day trial at https://app.danomics.com/signup.  No credit card required!

WHY DANOMICS

Q. How will Danomics make my interpretations better?

A. Danomics has a best-in-class multi-well workflow that will allow you to do the best possible evaluation of reservoir properties. Also, because Danomics is faster, you’ll be able to iterate more so you can converge on the best answer.

Q. How does Danomics save me money?

A. We are priced so that an annual subscription to Danomics will be roughly the same or less than your annual maintenance on competitor softwares.  This eliminates the upfront capex you have with traditional desktop softwares.

Q. How can Danomics save me time?

A. Danomics saves you time by handling a significant amount of the data prep and clean-up automatically. Some customers have told us that they have shortened data clean-up from weeks to hours using our software.
Also, we have focused a lot on software processing speed, which means that you’ll be able to get results out 30x, 50x, even 100x faster than you can with competitor software.

Q. How is Danomics different from its competitors?

A. We are different from petrophysics software because we have built-in maps, cross-sections and other spatial awareness tools. We are different from mapping packages because we have best-in-class petrophysics/reservoir characterization functionality.
We are different from all of our competitors because we utilize spatial data to inform parameter values across an evaluation.

Q. Is Danomics a replacement for or supplement to my existing software?

A. Danomics can replace your petrophysics and or mapping package for many users, but it really depends on your workflow. Some of our current users use us for all their petrophysics, some for just multi-well petrophysics, and some use us as both the primary geoscience and petrophysics package.

SUPPORT/HELP

Q. Is support included during my trial or subscription?

A. Yes.  Full support is included during your trial or subscription term.

Q. I am new to the software.  How can I get started?

A. We offer free on-boarding for all companies that start a trial subscription.  On our help page we also have several videos for new users.

Q. Where can I get software help?

A. We have several help articles and videos on the website.  You can always reach our help desk at support@danomics.com.

Q. Do you offer in-office software or petrophysics training?

A. Yes. We can schedule training at your offices. We also offer an applied petrophysics course as well as hybrid courses that are a blend of software and petrophysics training.

CLOUD FAQS

Q. Is my data secure?

A. Yes. We understand that data security is paramount. We use only the most up-to-date methods and tools to keep your data safe.

Q. What about my account security?

A. We require users to have passwords greater than eight characters (and recommend more) and offer two-factor authentication.

Q. How do updates work with cloud software?

A. Updates are installed on the software’s backend in the cloud – this means users don’t have to take any action to receive it.  This is why we are able to do 60-70 updates/year.

Q. How can I get to my data/projects?

A. You can access your data and projects from anywhere you have an internet connection.

Q. My internet is slow/unreliable.  Can I still use Danomics?

A. We have tested the software with speeds as slow as 1MB/second and are confident it can be used effectively at that speed.  Of course, this will mean when uploading/downloading large datasets it may take longer.
Also, we have engineered solutions that can handle short drops in your connection.

Q. What type of computer/device do I need?

A. You can run Danomics on any device as long as it has either Google Chrome or Microsoft’s Edge web browser.  Computer speed/memory doesn’t affect performance, so you can run it just the same on a laptop as a desktop. We do, however, find that running the software is easier on larger screens.

FUNCTIONS/FEATURES

Q. What basic features are available?

A. We are a fully featured platform. Some of the primary features include: Maps, cross-sections, cross-plots, histograms, 3D vizualizations, petrophysical workflows, Python integration, and more.

Q. What is your standard petrophysics workflow?

A. Our workflow includes Data prep and conditioning, Curve Normalization, Badhole ID and Repair, Clay Volume, TOC, Mineral Inversion, Porosity, Water Saturation, and Cutoffs plus advanced modules such as Volumetrics, Geomechanics, Wellbore Stability, Pore Pressure, Shear Log Modelling, and more.
Some steps are optional depending on your lithology and interpretation needs.

Q. Why do you have mineral inversion at the core of your workflow? Can I really use this?

A. Mineral Inversion allows you to calculate a step-by-step grain density that allows for a better porosity calculation than using a constant rho matrix for a whole zone.
We’ve taken a new approach that has made our mineral inversion 50-100x faster than our competitors, which is crucial to using it at scale.

Q. How big can projects be?

A. We routinely run projects in the 500-1000 well range, and have had clients run projects of 5,000-10,000+ wells.  Some have even ran projects as large as 20,000 wells.

Q. What do you do for data cleanup?

A. We automatically alias your data using a built-in alias table of 7500 curves, automatically detect and convert units, curve types, and lithologies, and have automated machine learning for washout repair.

Q. Can I use my own equations or modify yours?

A. We give users full access to our equation engine, which means that you can add your own equations, modify our equations, update/add parameter menus, and more.
We also have a built-in python interpreter so you can run your own python scripts.

Q. What machine learning techniques are available in Danomics?

A. We have some built-in machine learning models for some modules such as our Badhole ID & Repair and our lithofacies tool which enables one click model building.
Users can also build and train models using Python or can call their own pre-trained models from Danomics Flow tools via Python.
Danomics also supplies some pre-trained models from our internal R&D for users. This includes things like pre-trained facies models, prediction models, and synthetic curve generation models.

Q. What is your spatial interpolation methodology?

A. We allow users to set petrophysical parameters from map data.  For example, if you have a map of maturity from core, you can use that map to set the maturity parameters in your TOC equations.

LICENSING

Q. How does licensing work?

A. We do licensing on an annual subscription, named-user basis. Shorter subscriptions and enterprise licenses are also available.

Q. Can licenses be switched between users?

A. Yes. Every company has a designated admin(s) who can switch licenses between users via a backend admin panel.

Q. How are different products licensed?

A. We license geoscience, petrophysics, and production analysis separately. This allows users to select what they need with respect to functionality. However, there is a lot of overlap in functionality. E.g., a geoscience license can access most of the petrophysics functionality, while a petrophysics license can access most of the geoscience functions.

GENERAL

Q. Where is the software going strategically? What more will it do in the next few months or year?

A. We are developing on three fronts:

  1. Petrophysics
  2. Geoscience
  3. Production Analysis

Petrophysics is our most mature product line and has a very robust and thorough workflow.  We are enhancing this through addition of specialist modules, enhancing existing features such as cross-plots, and adding advanced features such as machine learning models.

We are aggressively pushing into geoscience. We have already made it easier to generate maps via our multi-grid tools and to build out displays with our .map file types.  In the future we are looking to add a number of utility tools to make it easier to perform routine tasks as well as larger development items such as 3D property modelling.

In production analysis we have a long development slate that includes additional decline curve methodologies, additional diagnostic plots, and more advanced economics.
